Something in the Soul
Something in the Soul
Something in the Soul
Something in the soul will see a clear
Blush of color in the fading cheek,
And on the coldest morning of the year
Will mark the willows greening by the creek.
Something in the mind will deftly draw
A gloomy hymn into a lilting dance,
And twist the parson’s dreary saw
Into a carnival of sweet romance.
Something in the heart will not allow
Love’s tender smiles to fade in memory,
But bids them gently, softly grow
Forever young and shy and kind and free.
Thus heart and mind and soul forever cast
The nets of love and joy that bind us fast.
